Gamle Vossebanen Steam Railway
Welcome to the only preserved railway with steam locomotives and teak-carriages in Norway that still runs on a main line track.
The Gamle Vossebanen Steam Railway is an 18 kilometre long railway that stretches between Garnes and Midttun. The railway has four restored old stations at Garnes, Arna, Espeland and Haukeland before the final destination Midttun. The journey passes through the Arna valley towards Haukeland, where the scenery undertakes a change toward a more typical western Norwegian nature, with several tunnels and mountainsides that rises dramatically out of the fjord. The 18 km journey comes to a halt at Midttun station, the current end of the line.
The train runs every Sunday through the summer from second Sunday in June to the second Sunday in September.
